We know and understand that facing relationship breakdown can be traumatic both for the person who is at the end of a relationship through no choice of their own and the person who has come to the sad conclusion that they wish to end a relationship.
There are all sorts of considerations coupled with a multitude of feelings such as loneliness, anxiety and anger. There are inevitably a lot of questions for example; what will happen about the children? How will I manage financially? Will I lose my home? The reality is that there are no ‘winners and losers’.
At Ardent Law we are committed to providing pragmatic advice and support whatever the circumstances to help ease the pain of relationship breakdown and the inevitable legal issues that arise as a result. We adopt a constructive and conciliatory approach to resolving family problems with the firm belief that in appropriate cases we may have to be tough to protect our client’s position.
We ensure you have the opportunity to meet with us face-to-face and to speak to us whenever you need to. Our Family Law specialist, Kiren Dulkoan, has practiced exclusively in Family Law since qualifying as a solicitor in 2002. Kiren is a member of Resolution First for Family Law and a trained Collaborative Lawyer..
How we can help
We can provide advice and help with the following:-:
- Separation, Divorce or Civil Partnership Dissolution
- Financial arrangements on Separation, Divorce or Civil Partnership Dissolution.
- Financial disputes between couples living together
- Arrangements for children such as residence and contact to include the position of grandparents seeking contact with their grandchildren.
- Financial provision for children
- International Aspects
- Protection for the victims of domestic abuse
- Preparation of cohabitation, pre-nuptial and pre-civil partnership agreements to protect your position at the outset should matters go wrong
We are committed to ensuring our clients are fully advised of all the options and processes open to them in order to tackle and resolve their issues whether that is through Alternative Dispute Resolution such as Mediation and the Collaborative process or the more traditional negotiation and court approach. Where it is not possible to reach an agreement out of court we will advise on the appropriate court action that can be taken and the steps involved.
We appreciate that the payment of legal fees is a big consideration when instructing a lawyer. We offer the initial consultation free of charge whether this is face to face or over the telephone. Whilst we do not undertake public funding cases (formerly known as legal aid) we are open to exploring with our clients their options on funding their case and undertake some of our work on a fix fee basis.
